Isotype: China, Ningbo coast, East China Sea, 29°51'48.96"N, 121°33'39.96"E (SN: F-MC785)21. Etymology: macro refers the size of the tear-shaped poroids being larger on the intercalary setae than those in the two other species, and elegans refers the overall look of the chains, resembling the characteristics of C. elegans., 2. The holotype is a slide of acid-washed material of strain MC785.
