Etymology: denso refers more densely spaced round-oval poroids on particularly the terminal setae than those in C. macroelegans, and elegans refers the overall look of the chains, resembling the characteristics of C. elegans., 2. Holotype is fixed material of strain MC687.published in: Chen, X.M., Chen, Z., Lundholm, N., Teng, S.T., Xu, X. & Li, Y. 2022: Semicryptic diversity around Chaetoceros elegans (Bacillariophyceae), and the description of two new species. – Diversity 14: 676
